About the archive

History of Higashikawa dates back to the Meiji peoriod when a group of people first migrated from the mainland and built foundation of the town. The development of the town was gradual: first houses and roads, then a school. People with creative inspirations painted or curved woods in between hard working hours. What's inherited to our generation is a variety of properties with historical values.

This archive keeps growing as the town keeps developing, leaving behind a path for the future generation to follow.
