Yoichi Matsuda
After being discharged from the army duty in Siberia in 1948, Yoichi came back to Higashikawa and became a farmer. In his spare time, he taught himself painting, sculpting and photography. His passion and creative inspirations come from people in farming families and their lives who built the foundation of modern society in Hokkaido. He received awards in national and local exhibitions, and in 2004, he was given the Hokkaido Cultural Award.
